Abstract
Two pesticides were used in this work (Chitosan oligosaccharide (natural pesticide) and Fipronil (phenyl pyrazole). This research was conducted to assess the side effects of these pesticides at two approaches in vivo and in vitro. The experimental rat, Rattus norvegicus females was chosen for assess the teratogenicity in in vivo studies. The liver and kidney cell lines were chosen for assign the genotoxicity in in vitro studies. The results of in vivo studies elucidated that both tested pesticides induced developmental toxicity included increase of fetal death, a decrease in fetal body weight and length, as well as increased incidence of fetal external, skeletal and visceral abnormalities. Furthermore, the results of in vitro studies revealed that both tested pesticides inhibited DNA replication and induced both of apoptosis and aneuploidy.
